Other People: Portraits

Well, this is us. I hope they didn't air brush too much. We are the idealized Caucasian leaders of the embattled, humbled Japanese, recreated by them, in oil colors. Faithfully recreated and for sale in miniature plastic figures, yours to keep. Yours to paint any color, to melt or admire.

The Cocaine and yet more The Cocaine

Saturday was a sick show at the Cocaine.

We played with Ars Poetria and some other bands I will refrain from mentioning for legal reasons. Basically the Cocaine is the shit and if you weren't there you are not (the shit.) I put up a buncha pictures on the myspace.com/otherotherpeoplepeople but here are some highlights.
This is a murdering hobo: he snuck up on poor innocent Hayley. If you've seen her, please: call the police.

To the left is Will's pre-show ritual of hating everybody. To the Right is Victor doing what Victor does best, diddling around with tiny knobs.

If you would like to terrify yourself beyond repair, open
this page and then open this one
in a new window or tab. You will poop.

New place, recording, bending, cops be hatin'

We started to record a demo this week in a new appartment. There were arguments, we re-recorded things we got lots of guitar tracks and a couple synth tracks. we sped things up and slowed things down. Experiments were made. It has yet to be mixed. I think the song is called "sun out". I got this blurry picture of a police helicopter too. And I'm trying to put this toy guitar in a cool new case and experiment with curcuit bending. Not having much luck because all the good curcuits have been replaced with a chip covered in black epoxy...

4/7/07 show pics from the alterknit lounge - updated

Thanks to everyone who was there. The sound was pretty good. But we have too much shit. It took way to long to set our gear up. Oh yeah and the bartender was an being an asshole. He wouldnt give me ice because he thought I was bringing in my own alcohol. It's really hard to be nice when your being honest and someone just thinks your lying and giving excuses. Fuck you bartender guy.

Gabe - vertical stripes.

Dance.

Victor - horizontal stripes.

No stripes.

Nate - more vertical stripes.

These pictures were taken by Greg. He's the fellow with the dark glasses looking up in the second picture above.

the real plan

here are some old pictures from our cd release party last year.

Got this player piano from a thrift shop a couple weeks ago, batteries for camera today.

We found this player piano at a thrift store on Venice blvd. All the player parts are removed but the keys are in remarkably good tuning. I bought it for 125 dollars. It's a hardman duo with serial number 129xxx. This site tells me that the piano is from 1963. We had to carry it up about ten steps with only four people. It was really fucking heavy. If I was going to die and I needed to lift something really heavy in order to survive, I would only be able to life about 10 percent more than I did that day.

After about a week I discover this. The wood in front of the keys flips open to reveal tempo and volume levers. And two mute buttons for bass and treble. The whole front above and bellow the keys can be removed.
